ÖRÆFI LAB is an outdoor research lab based in Iceland, dedicated to creative production within sport and experiences in nature. Our work draws energy from the landscape itself, shaping raw terrain into living sets for stories to unfold. We connect people and projects to places where design, exploration, and fieldwork meet. Led by Bjartur Norðfjörð, with nearly a decade of experience working across Iceland’s terrain, we create with nature as both guide and collaborator. At the heart of ÖRÆFI LAB is connection. We believe the strongest ideas emerge when humans and environment move together, when weather and terrain are allowed to shape the process. Our projects live between culture, sport, and design, seeking harmony with the world around them. We don’t just work in nature. We work with it.
